Penrith Whitewater Stadium was the competition venue for the canoe/kayak slalom events during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. It is the only man-made whitewater course of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
Water in the channel flows at 14 cubic metres per second using 5 pumps. The channel itself is concrete, it is 320 metres long, drops 5.5 metres top to bottom and is constructed in a “U” shape.
A moveable obstacle system makes it possible to change the whitewater.
Individual athletes and small groups will need to book and pay in advance for sessions. (Invoices for large teams may be available on request).
We expect there will be 6 to 8 Slalom sessions available per day in January & February, plus the option to paddling in Recreational paddling sessions with Rafts (upstream gates only).
1 hour Open Slalom Training = $22 per person per session
1 hour Exclusive Whitewater = $600 per hour
1 hour Recreational Paddling = $18 per hour or $35 per day (upstream gates only)
